Derek Trucks played at the Majestic Theatre on September 9th, 2008 with his band, The Derek Trucks Band.  We showed up around 9:30 and the opener just got off.  When Trucks hit the stage he was full of energy.  He played two well known jazz tunes, one of them being Afro Blues.

I've been looking forward to seeing this concert since I saw him at the crossroads guitar festival where he played with Eric Clapton's band.  It was alot more intimate to see him perform close up in a packed theatre.  Derek Trucks really knows how to rip it on the slide guitar and is a master at blues guitar in general.  There wasn't a moment during the show where the energy died down.

My one downside of the show was that it was a little short, stopping around 11:30, the show only lasted an hour and 45 minues with Trucks only playing 1 set and a 1 song encore.  Even though the concert was rather short, while it lasted, it was really rocking and I got to see Derek Trucks rip it up and I was only 15 feet away from him.

Pretty sweet, here are some photos and a video that I took while standing by the front stage.
