I purchased a Seirra Design ASP Utra light backpacking tent just in time for my Glacier National Park backpacking trip. The tent is a two person tent and comes in at a weight of approximatley 6 pounds. I got the tent from Sierra Trading Post for $180 shipped.
If you register for an account there you can get e-mail notifications of upcoming specials. They usually always give away atleast 20% coupons on a daily basis, and sometimes 15% with free shippping, but these offers only last around 3-5 days. I was lucky enough to get a 25% off coupon, so the retail value of $320, was marked down to $210 and then an additional 25% off that enabled me to get it for the low low price of $180 shipped, what a deal.
The tent is made of very highy quality material including the fabric and the poles. The tent has one large vestiblue in the front and a smaller side vestibule in the back allowing easy access for two people. With double crossing poles and two additional poles to hold up the rain fly, this tent is very sturdy and will be able to withstand major winds, as well as keep you completely dry if it were to rain.
Sierra Trading Post usually sells overstocked or last year's model's, so if your looking at purchasing this tent, get it soon as when they run out of stock, theres no hope to getting it anymore, and just wait around til you find a good coupon deal, and then pull the trigger. You'll be camping in style without hurting your pocket book one bit.
