My parents are planning on moving out to Utah for my father's job.  They were flown out to check out the city they would be living in and to look at possible housing options.  Ogden Utah, where they would be re-locating to, is only only 6 hours north of Bozeman, I decided to make the trek down to see what Utah is all about.

The drive down was very scenic, driving through the Gallatin valley right away, and then seeing West Yellowstone right after that.  Once you get into Utah, the mountains start to line the highway.

The three cities my parents were  looking at moving to were Ogden, Bringham City and Termonton.  My dad's paper plant is located in Bringham city, which is 15 minutes north of Ogden.  I'm pretty excited that they are moving there since many people claim that Utah has the best skiing in the US, and Ogden was rated one of the best cities for outdoor adventures by outdoor magazine.

We ended up seeing a bunch of cool stuff, we checked out some houses the first day I was there, and then went to downtown Ogden and ate dinner at Rooster's on 25th Street.  We went to Antelope Island which is a Utah State Park, and later went to the Utah State Fair which was in Salt Lake City.

I've heard alot of stories about the dense Mormon populationin Utah and that there are alot of restrictions on alcohol, like only being able to server 3.2 alcohol.  However, Rooster's was a very nice micro-brewery that had some delicious beer, I had the Pale Ale while my parents had the Honey brew.

All in all, I think Utah is a really sweet city, I wanted to play some disc golf at Solitude Mountain, which you ride a chairlift up the mountain and then you play down the entire mountain, but we didn't have enough time to fit that in the schedule.

After my visit to Utah, I made the 20 hour drive back to Madison, WI where I'm residing for a month and working for a new start up company.
